First train length = L1 = 450 meters Let its speed = S1 Second train length = 300 meters Its speed = 72 km/hr = 72 * 5/18 = 20 meters/second First train overtakes the second in 30 seconds Since, Time = Distance/speed Total distance covered = 450 + 300 = 750 meters Relative speed = S1 - 20 30 = 750 / S1 -20 S1 = 45 meters/second

Ans.The total of the mixture is = (55*4) + (40*2) = Rs 300

Area of the square = 20 * 20 = 400 cm2 so, area of rectangle = 400/2 = 200 cm2 let the length and breadth of the rectangle be 2L and L since they are in the ratio 2:1 so (2L)*(L) = 200 2L2 = 200 L = 10 cm so Breadth = 10 cm and Length = 20 cm Perimeter = 2*(length + breadth) = 2*(20 + 10) = 2*30 = 60 cm

Ans.Given ratio of women and men = 25 : 12 Let the number of women = 25x let the number of men = 12x If 70 more women join the ratio becomes 5 : 1 So 25x + 70 : 12x = 5 : 1 25x + 70 = 60x x = 2 So total number of persons in the office 25x + 12x = 37x = 37*2 = 74
55.The average speed of a car is 5/3 times the average speed of a bike. The bike covers a distance of 240 km in two hours. How much distance will the car cover in 36 minutes? a)72 b)120 c)86 d)134 e)112
Ans. Average speed of bike = 240 km/120 min = 2 km/min Distance bike covers in 36 minutes = 2*36 = 72 km Since the car is 5/3 times the average speed of bike, it covers 5/3 times more distance than bike in same time. So distance covered by car in 36 minutes = 72 * 5/3 = 120 km. Method 2: Average speed of the bike = 240/2 = 120 km/hr The average speed of the car = (5/3) * 120 = 200 km/hr So the distance car covers in 36 minutes = 200 * (36/60) = 120 km.
