Ans. If the letters in the word INSTRUCTION are arranged in the ascending order is CINNORSTTU, then no letter remains in its initial position.

 

12.Six persons A through F have scored different marks among 70, 75 , 62, 83, 94, and 50 marks in a subject. C scored more marks than D whereas B scored less marks than F. A scored more marks than C and E scored less marks than B. If D scored more marks than F , who scored 83 marks among them?

Ans. Given
C > D;  F > B;  A > C;  B > E;  D > F;
By combining all the statements, we get A > C > D > F > B > E
Marks are 94 > 83 > 75 > 70 > 62 > 50
Therefore C scored 83 marks.

                  5 + 6 + 3 - 12 x 2 ⇒ 5 + 6 + 3 - 12 ÷ 2
                                             ⇒ 8 ≠ 20, which is not true.

Case 3: On interchanging + and ÷ we get:
                   5 + 6 + 3 - 12 x 2 ⇒ 5 ÷ 6 ÷ 3 - 12 x 2
                                              ⇒ -23.222 ≠ 20, which is not true.

Case 4: On interchanging + and - we get:
                   5 + 6 + 3 - 12 x 2 ⇒ 5 - 6 - 3 + 12 x 2
                                                  ⇒ 20 = 20, which is true.

14.Five friends Sunny, Rahul, Rohit, George and Ramesh are standing in a row facing South but not necessarily in the same order. Only Rahul is between Sunny and Ramesh, Rohit is immediate right to Ramesh and George is immediate left to Sunny. Ans.

Only Rahul is between Sunny and Ramesh, i.e possible ordering is:

 1.Sunny,Rahul,Ramesh or

 2.Ramesh,Rahul,Sunny

 Rohit is immediate right to Ramesh, i.e possible ordering is Ramesh,Rohit.

So only first ordering is possible. Hence the order will be Sunny,Rahul,Ramesh,Rohit.

George is immediate left to Sunny, i.e the final ordering will be George,Sunny,Rahul,Ramesh,Rohit.

Hence George is third to the left of Ramesh.
